Yup…we’re hosting an outdoor movie at Evergreen Cemetery and park! The cemetery is located at Harvey West Park. Our church family has had the opportunity to help with clean up several times out there. It is owned by the Museum of Art & History who has been working alongside the city to restore the space, and like the park around it, create a space for families to enjoy and to celebrate the history of Santa Cruz.

Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History is hosting a community festival for Dia De Los Muertos which includes a procession to Evergreen along with some “altars” to rememebr some of the families represented there. We get to partner with them to host the movie at the end of the event. You are also welcome to check out what they have going on throughout the day. Click here for more info about the event.

For those who aren’t aware, Dia De Los Muertos (AKA Day if the Dead) is a Mexican holiday that remembers those who have gone before. In it’s Catholic history it was moved to coincide with All Saints Day and All Souls Day which celebrates the saints who have gone before us.
