October 24 is National Make A Difference Day and we will spend a couple hours that day helping out at a local school, Main Street Elementary. Businesses, churches, non-profits, and individuals all over Santa Cruz County will be serving in our communities. We get to partner with Volunteer Center of Santa Cruz County, Charter for Compassion Santa Cruz, and Serve The Bay Santa Cruz County and we’d love to have you join us!
From 10:30am – 12:30pm we will be out there to paint some new lines on the blacktop for the kids to play on. This will take 6-8 volunteers at a time. Those who aren’t painting at points in the project will do some sweeping up, weeding, and general clean up in the playground/woodchip area. Many hands make light work and more fun, too.
This is a great opportunity for kids to join us to give back at a school in the area. We know they don’t always have the strongest stamina in these cases, so we will also be right near the playground where thay can get some energy out while we all work, as well.
We will provide some pizzas for lunch for anyone who wants to stick around after for food and hanging out together after working together.
Please click here to sign up at the Volunteer Center’s website for Make A Difference Day as well in order to help them be aware of how all the projects are looking.
